Nigerian singer Burna Boy has bagged a Grammy Award Nomination for the third time in a row

Nigerian singer, songwriter and iconic performer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has bagged himself another Grammy nomination making it the third time in three years.

The Grammy-award winner bagged his first nomination with his “African Giant” album for “Best World Music Category” in the 2020 Grammy Awards. However, he lost to the legendary Angelique Kidjoe, who acknowledged him when she received the award.

He went on to bag another nomination with his ‘Twice as Tall’ album in the “Best Global Music Album” category in the 2021 Grammy Awards. He was nominated alongside four others, including Malian band Tinariwen and US band Antibalas, and he won that category giving him his first ever Grammys.

For the third time in a row, the African giant has been nominated for the prestigious Grammy Awards, after being nominated in the category of “best global music performance” for a song titled “Do yourself,” which he made with Angelique Kidjoe.

The Grammy is an award presented by the Recording Academy to recognize achievement in the music industry of the United States and beyond. Held annually, its trophy depicts a gilded gramophone.

The Recording Academy started broadcasting the nominations live by 6PM West African time on Grammy.com, as well as across their social platforms which includes, Twitter, TikTok and Facebook pages.
