Goya Amenor
Buzzing Nigerian rapper Goya Menor gave a detailed narration as regards why his smash tune ‘Ameno Amapiano (remix)’ was taken off some streaming platforms.
Recall that streaming platforms like Spotify once removed the song, after which it was brought back. The song, owned by Goya Menor and Ghanaian record producer Nektunez, samples “Ameno’ by French new-age musical project Era. As it is known, to sample any form of intellectual property, it is expected that the party that owns such property be contacted and the said sample be “cleared”.

The Amapiano remix, which includes the Gregorian chant from the original song, has become a global tune, with TikTok playing a major role in the spread.
In an interview with City FM’s Melody Hassan, the rapper, who is often regarded as a hypeman, stated that the song had been cleared initially by Nektunez, but that the remix surpassed the agreed number of streams, hence the reason why it was removed. However, the rapper made it clear that the right authorities were contacted and the song was dully cleared, which resulted in it coming back on the streaming platforms.
In the interview, Goya Menor also spoke about other projects he is working on and other interesting topics.
