247 crooner Lekinzee, is the  Laoudit Artiste of the Month for September.

Fast-rising Nigerian Afropop singer, Olamilekan Joshua Oloyemide popularly known as Lekinzee, is the Laoudit Music artiste of the month for September.

The Ondo-state born singer and songwriter whose music career officially began in 2015 is best known for hit singles like, ‘247, Thinking’ few to mention.

In an exclusive interview with Laoudit, the talented singer speaks about his career and the industry in general.

What made you realize that music was your path ?

I needed no one to tell me, because the feelings were all over. It’s something I enjoy doing, the passion was 100%.

How would you describe the music that you typically create ?

I don’t just make music, i consider many factors before i record any song. So basically I’ll say music is Inspirational, Motivational & Emotional as well.

Who are your biggest musical influences ?

Hmnnn… I listen to different genre of music and i learn one thing or the other, but I’ll say “Big Wiz” Wizkid is my biggest influence.

What makes your music special / unique ?

I think what makes my sound unique basically is my originality. I’m not imitating anyone, I’m only to improve on my capabilities.

Describe how you make a track from scratch ?

Ideally, the kind of instrumental I have at my disposal determines the direction of the song. Most times I  listen to the beat and just vibe with it.

Which of your tracks are you most proud of ?

I’ll say 247. Why ? Because it brings out the hustling spirit in me. It is every hustlers song. We all crave for better lifestyle.

Who is your top five favorite Artistes of all time? Why those artistes?

In no particular order I’ll say Wizkid, Olamide, Wande Coal, Davido and Mayorkun. Why? Because I can relate to there sound.

Have you always been interested in music? Was there a particular song/performance that made you say “Woah! I want to do that!” ?

I have always loved music ! Like I have said earlier the passion is 100%. There is a saying;   that goes thus “Music is Life”. So if music is life I have no other option that to opt for it.

Which artist would you like to collaborate with in the nearest future ?

I want to work with alot of artiste in the industry but definitely i can’t wait to have Baddosneh (Olamide) on a track.

Coming up as an artist, what would you say your biggest challenges is/are ?

Hmmmm. The biggest challenges is finance. The industry needs money. Nothing is free. You need to have 7-digits to get a quality musical video.

Has there been one particular moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of ?

Yes, at a performance. The audience was miming to my song. This gives me a lot joy and motivation.

Where do you see yourself in a decade (in 10 years time) ?

Hmmnn. The biggest star in Africa if not in the whole world. Lol 😆. I want to be in position to assist other talents in achieving that dream.

What project(s) are you working on ?

I have a song already titled “Hustle” featuring Tee Guy Wanle. Its 99.9% completed. I’ll be releasing it any moment from now. I’ll also working on my first EP album.
