Ecode whose real name is Balogun Emmanuel is a talented Nigerian singer, song-writer and also a sound engineer.

Ecode has lots of hit songs to his name already, including a song titled “Like” released few weeks ago. We’re glad to have him on the show.

The Interview

What made you realize that music was your path?
I actually didn’t chose music, it flows inside of me . I don’t do music for “music”, I do it for the love of music. It’s actually something that flows in my family except for my own decision to take it seriously and also as a career.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Well, the music I do is my kinda music, I sing whatever I’ve got on my mind exactly how I feel. I don’t go with the trend when it comes to singing, I just do whatever I’m comfortable with putting in much effort.

What makes your music unique?
What makes my music unique is that “I just do my thing ” I sing whatever I’m comfortable with presenting in public.

Who is your top five favorite Artists of all time? Why those artists?
My top 5 favourite artists are;

• Wizkid
• Davido
• 2face
• Fela
• Drake

Why;

I love wizkid’s songs because of his versatile style, fashion sense too.

Davido for the way he sings and energy he puts onto music.

2face for his good vocals and unique style of singing.

We all know fela sings to please nobody. And that’s what I love about him .

I really like drake for his songs and how calmly he sings.

Have you always been interested in music? Or was there a particular song/performance that made you say “Woah! I want to do that!”?
Actually, it was a movie that developed my interest for music. The movie is titled Hustle and flow.

Which artist would you like to collaborate with in the nearest future ?
I’d like to work with any talented artist who blends well with my kinda vibe. I’m open to working with anyone, as long as they’re good.

Coming up as an artist, what would you say your biggest challenges is/are ?
My biggest challenge as an artist is money, owo, kudi, ego! As an artist, it’s not really been an easy thing to have you song everywhere, which I know that involves a lot of money. It’s not been easy but I haven’t stopped trying! And that’s because I still have people who believe in me and the sound I create. And that love and support has kept me going.

Has there been one particular moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
In this music journey so far, I’m proud of everything as a whole. People I’ve met, places I’ve been to or where music has taken me to rather! Which I know I wouldn’t have been to if i wasn’t into music, especially when I’m on stage, I feel wonderful.

What’s next for you?
I can’t really say what’s next for me. I guess it’s “work harder , pray harder and hope for the best to come! And thanks to Laoudit.com for always supporting.
