Wizkid opens up on how he started his record label

Sensational Nigerian Singer, Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has opened up on how he started his record label.

According to the 30-year-old, during a chitchat interview on Instagram, he started the record label, Starboy Entertainment with his friends in his living room.

In his words;

“I started that business (Starboy Entertainment) with my friends. We literally started it in my living room. We didn’t even have much.
I can’t remember what we had altogether then. We decided to do a photo shoot the same day after we spoke about it and went for it because we were so determined.

“That was the first time a record label would be starting in Africa. We just had producers on the label. I just want to thank my brothers for believing in me and trusting me enough.”

Laoudit recalls that Wizkid established his label imprint Starboy Entertainment in March 2013. He revealed to Yvonne Ekwere of Silverbird Television that he planned on signing new acts to the label. In an interview with Showtime Celebrity, he said he had established his own record label to give up-and-coming artists a platform to showcase their talent.
