Reacting to the death of the Ekueme singer, Sola Allyson took to her social media page to pen her thoughts about how society is quick to judge gospel musicians when they make decisions regarding their private lives. Part of her long reaction read:

Hmmm. SAD.

“But she should have left!”

Ha? Left kẹ̀? She wouldn’t even dare it! Or would be afraid to! Because of you!!!!

You would condemn her, you would not regard her as a “minister” any longer!

It might have been that being a minister was where she found joy! That was the only way she “escapes” from the bullying and abuse. And then, it must have been very important to her to be seen as one!

She should have cried out and spoken up, YES! But you, this society, you, would have made her shut up, because, she has to be “wise”! Those who cried out, ṣèbí we saw how you condemned them. Ṣèbí you said they shouldn’t have come to social media? But ṣèbí social media is our “out” nowadays? And that’s where an average person has, at the time they needed to speak! It is not everyone that has coconut head and when they see how you tonguelash others, they’ll be afraid to.

So, she stayed.

She went on to discuss how fear of society causes many people to make poor decisions. Part of her lengthy post read:

I conclude my last post here…

See now, she has died! What next? 🤒

Maybe we are happy now as “a people of God”.😗

Maybe our platforms would be more filled with more people. Maybe our faith would be more inviting now, àbí…

“Her friends that knew should have helped her!”

Ha, but her friends that knew would have been afraid of the same thing! Fear of being ripped of their honors. Of being blacklisted.

Ṣèbí we know how you all think in this society? 😚🤐

All these negative narratives that have been upheld but do nothing to aid our humanity, are you not also contributing to them? By your mouth that would always boldly but foolishly condem people because of your mind that you are lazy to renew! 😏😗

What would Jesus do? Do you even know the Jesus that you claim to serve? What did Jesus say???

Oh, I’m not saying marriages should be dissolved at every opportunity. You know I’M A PREACHER OF LOVE AND MARRIAGE AND MAKING IT WORK, but LIFE is more important!!! Face the issues and speak out when necessary! Not easy but build courage! Yes, relationships/marriages require a lot of WORK but you can’t do it alone! Don’t stay and then die! You cannot fix it in the grave!
