The West African Youth Support and Development Forum (WFYSDF) have sued one-half of the PSquare brothers, Peter Okoye over a breach in contract and allegedly defrauding the group of N2.8 million.

According to Prosper Ibezim, a member of the board of directors of the WAYSDF, Peter was paid a 70% upfront fee to perform at the West African Champions League at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, on June 16, 2019.

Ibezim said the singer did not show up for the event and refused to take his calls or return messages sent to him.

He claimed that Peter’s refusal to turn up for the event cost them over N33 million.

Ibezim also alleged that the singer sent a spy to monitor the show, adding that Mr P threatened his life after seeking out means to recover the upfront payment.

Counsel to the Plaintiffs, Mr Afamefuna Akonanya on Monday stated that the counsel to the defendant, Mr Somadina Okoli has filed a statement of defence and preliminary objection asking the court to strike out the case for want of jurisdiction.

Mr Akonanya who disclosed that they have requested for a date to appear with their own counter motion expressed optimism that his clients will get the justice they deserve as the court is an institution of justice.

The counsel to the defendant, Mr Okoli said they officially appeared before the court to file a notice of preliminary objection challenging the jurisdiction of the court to entertain the matter, adding that the Plaintiffs have sued his client over breach of contract.

The presiding Judge Justice I. J. Ndigwe adjourned the case to April 13.
