After the Oscar incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock on Sunday, the 27th of March, 2022, Will Smith has publicly apologized to Chris Rock for slapping him across the face during the event.
The comedian and Oscar winner, Will Smith had slapped Chris Rock last night when he made a joke about Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Will Smith, in his apology to Chris Rock on the 28th of March via Instagram, stated that he had reacted emotionally because “a joke about his wife was too much for me to bear”
He went further to say “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness. I would like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behaviour has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.
