Basketmouth & Sound Sultan
Ace Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, made it known that Sound Sultan was told he was “alright” before his death.
The iconic singer died on the morning of Sunday, July the 11th, 2021, after a long battle with angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma, as announced by his brother, Kayode Fasasi.

Speaking about the late 44-year-old singer, rapper, actor, and philantrophist, his friend and colleague, Basketmouth, made it known that Sound Sultan was told he was perfectly fine prior to his demise.
Basketmouth, who made an appearance on Ikechukwu‘s podcast Drinks with Killz made it known that Sound Sultan sent him a video of his nurse telling him that he was done with chemotherapy and was “free to go home”. Unfortunately, news of Sound Sultan’s demise was later announced, something that threw the comedian into great shock, according to him.
Basketmouth, who recently released a 9-track album titled “Horoscopes,” also spoke about how Sound Sultan, though a Muslim, always celebrated Christmas for the less-priviledged, his philosophy towards helping without posting on social media, among other traits.
