Burna Boy has bagged a Grammy Nomination foe the thord time in a row

Nigerian singer, songwriter and iconic performer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has bagged himself another Grammy nomination making it the third time in three years.

The Grammy-award winner bagged his first nominations with this Twice as Tall album for  ‘Best World Music Category” in the 2020 Grammy Awards. However, he lost to the legendary Angleique Kidjoe. He went on to bag another nomination and went on to win with his ‘Twice as Tall” album, which was nominated alongside four others, including Malian band Tinariwen and US band Antibalas, and has just won the Best Global Music Album in the 2021 Gramy Awards.

For the third time in a row, the African giant has been nominated in the category of “best global music performance” for a song titled “Do yourself,” which he made with Angelique Kidjoe

The Grammy is an award presented by the Recording Academy to recognize achievement in the music industry of the United States and beyond. Held annually, its trophy depicts a gilded gramophone.

.Nigerian Afrobeats poster boy Wizkid, whose ‘Made in Lagos’ album has gone on a global run since its release, is expected to bag at least one Grammy nomination after being considered for ten categories. The categories include: Album of the Year, Global Music Album, Engineered Album (Dro), Song of the Year (Essence), Record of the Year, Global Music Performance, Music Video, Melodic Rap Performance (Long Time), Best Rap, and Producer of the Year (P2J).

The Recording Academy started  broadcast the nominations live by 6PM West African time on Grammy.com, as well as across their social platforms which includes, Twitter, TikTok and Facebook pages.
