Although the song Peru did not go to number one on the UK charts, Fireboy and Ed Sheeran jumped to number two on the charts, making Fireboy the only Nigerian artist to hit number two on the UK charts.
Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran actually climbed up two places to number two on the UK Charts, with Peru knocking Adele with her song “Easy On Me” down to number four in the charts. Peru had an increase of up to 11,000 in pure sales across CD singles and also digital downloads as well. This is an incredible achievement because it comes after the hitmaker received a silver certification in the UK after selling over 200,000 units of his hit song Peru.

Fireboy had released the remix to Peru in December 2021 with the Grammy award-winning Ed Sheeran who expressed his love for the song in an interview with Elton John. The remix of Peru increased the audience on a global scale and led to its debut on charts like the UK Charts, Billboard charts, and Apple music charts as well.
It seems as though there is no chance of slowing down for Fireboy, as it is still possible to clinch the number one spot on the UK charts that will be updated on Friday, February 4, 2022.
