British singer, Ed Sheeran, has opened up on collaboration with Afrobeats star, Fireboy DML on the remix of Peru and has shared some interesting facts on this cultural crossover.

According to Ed Sheeran who’d been sold the idea for the remix by his late friend, he’d been in a collaborative phase when he’d hopped on Fireboy’s Peru. He said; “I did an Afrobeats song with an artiste called Fireboy DML and it’s ended up being and it’s ended up being the biggest selling collaboration in England this year, it’s the second biggest song this year, I think it’s the biggest Afrobeats song in England and that was very much me being open to it. It was actually my friend that passed away in February, he was the one that hooked that up. I didn’t know it was going to be that big, I was just like “yeah cool”. The singer also shared on his collaborative phase, stating that he’s unsure if he’ll ever be in that space again as it was very tasking.

Fireboy DML’s Ed Sheeran- featured Peru Remix was released on the 23rd December, 2021 and attained several feats in the UK. Additionally, the record served as Fireboy’s ticket to being the first African act to perform at the Wembley stadium as well as the Brit Awards.
