Crayon Rolls Out New Music – “Excuse Me” (Rock You) featuring Toby Shang.
Mavin/Blowtime youngstar, Crayon teams up with Afro-Hypeman Toby Shang to unleash a brand new song titled “Excuse Me” (Rock You). This is the first single from Crayon since the release of his sophomore EP – TWELVE A.M.
Fusing together Afrobeats, Pop and Carribean sounds,Twelve A.Mshows off Crayons versatility while remaining true to his roots. With additional support from fellow West African hitmakers Rema and OneAcen, Crayon warms us into the project with the smooth entry of In Sync (prod. by London), before picking up the tempo with Rema fuelled party hit Too Correct (prod. by Andre Vibez). We are later introduced to the anticipated Summer 2021 Afrobeat anthem Mandem which reveals the well complimented collaboration with UK songwriter and producer, One Acen, tying the tape together nicely with percussion filled track Jackpot.
Crayon’s debut EP, Cray Cray was one of 2019s most celebrated releases, producing the global fine girls anthems, So Fine and Gock Am. Cray rose through the ranks in inner-city Lagos to getting discovered by in-house Mavin producers. A standout performance on Don Jazzys first posse cut in years, All Is In Order was his first introduction. Released months later, his debut EP also produced fan faves, Unusual and Bamiloke. It earned him a place on multiple Ones To Watch lists and a Rookie of The Year nomination at the 2019 Headies.
This new single “Excuse Me” (Rock You) is a smooth Afro-fusion record with Amapiano spice produced by Masterkraft. Who The F*ck Are You crooner, Toby Shang brought some lovely mid-tempo hype to the record as Crayon drops the vibe.
Listen and Enjoy!
