The director of the Islamic group Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the director of the Islamic group Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has now reacted to the ongoing sexual relationship between Big Brother Naija housemates Khalid and Daniella.
Remember that the Level Up housemates, Daniella and Khalid made headlines earlier in the week, after they had sex under the duvet on Monday night, while other housemates, were already asleep; an act that sparked mixed reactions on social media.
Warri girl reacted saying “This is really not right let’s be telling ourselves the truth. How long have you known each other for? What would your parents say abi they don’t have? This is very irritating abeg. I’m no saint but omo this is a no no!”
Ngozi wrote “And their fam will be watching them like this? So shameful! You people can’t even wait for just 3months!”
Elizabeth wrote “I hope she doesn’t ge pregnant. I’m no saint, but i don’t understand, with all the efforts ands lobbying pple do to get to the big brother house, they came and the next thing is start having intimate relationship just after few days? That aside! These are total strangers you probably know nothing or a little about! What if they have any stds or any bad spirit… The risk are endless! I just keep wondering”
Brown sugar wrote “Daniella with the innocent look and good girl vibes? Go show dey ride prick in less than a month? These ladies would never learn! A man would come out of that show and move on nicely! But it never would be the same for her!”
Reacting in a conversation with Vanguard, the MURIC director said he cannot make any Shari’a pronouncement on Khalid because “whatever anybody is doing in BBNaija is haram.”
He said; “I have no comment concerning Khalid. Whatever anybody is doing in BBNaija is haram, BBNaija itself; the whole of it. So, it’s not about the aspect of alcohol or whatever. I was part of a group that went to court to stop BBNaija, but the system continues to encourage BBNaija, some of our people in the media, and journalists continue to encourage them because there’s money there.
“Nigeria worships money and then we are destroying our youths, who are watching this show and there are some irresponsible parents, too, who are watching and encouraging their children to watch it.”
Akintola added that MURIC has called on the federal government to ban BBNaija, saying it was unfortunate that some of our leaders and people do not listen when cases affect the morality of the nation and the youths.
