EME boss and politician Banky W has secured a ticket at the PDP primaries which was held in Lagos.
Music Executive and politician Bankole Wellington who is popularly known as Banky W has secured his ticket for the House of Representatives for Eti-Osa local government area following the PDP primary election conducted today, Monday, May 23, 2022.
The singer had won by a clear and wide margin even though the primaries had suffered setbacks.
The music act had earlier announced that he would be running for the position of House of Representatives under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on the 2nd of April 2022, following his earlier defeat in 2019 under the Modern Democratic Party. According to the Premium Times, the singer had won his constituency with a total of 28 votes while his closest opponent had just three votes.
The singer had initially announced that he was switching parties with a tweet on the 2nd of April 2022 which read:
“We must engage with Nigeria where it is, not where we prefer it to be. In 2019, we planted the seed. In 2023, by the grace of God and with your support, we will win the seat. The time for just talking is over. It is time to #TalkAndDo. I hope I can count on you. We move,”
