Popular Yoruba comedian and actor, Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe died on Monday at 63.
1. Baba Suwe was born in on August 22, 1958.
2. He grew up in Lagos Island but hails from Ikorodu local government area of Lagos State.
3. He became more popular after he featured in Iru Esin produced by Olaiya Igwe in 1997
4. In 2011, he was accused of cocaine trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA), an allegation described as false and defamatory by the ruling of the Lagos High Court. His counsel was the late Bamidele Aturu, a lawyer and human right activist.
5. He was rumoured to have died in August 2020 but was later debunked by his family members.
6. He had featured and produced several movies such as Baba Jaiye jaiye, a movie that featured Funke Akindele and Femi Adebayo, the son of the veteran actor Adebayo Salami.
Earlier Baba Suwe Son has been berated by Nigerians after he shared a video of his father’s corpse while mourning him on social media.
Baba Suwe died yesterday, November 22, and his son had taken to social media to share a video of himself crying next to his father’s lifeless body.
However, some Nigerians found it sacrilegious and daft that the son shared the visuals of the legend’s corpse and he was dragged online.
