The 2022 Grammy Awards has been officially postponed indefinitely by the Recording Academy with cases of the new Omicron variant becoming rampant.
The Recording Academy has announced that the 2022 Grammy Awards has been postponed indefinitely amid fears of the new Omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus. This was shared via their Instagram page on Wednesday, the 5th of December 2021.

The Grammy Awards last year was also postponed in a similar fashion on the 5th of January last year. It was moved till the 14th of March due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles. The location for the awards show was also moved from the Staples Center to the nearby but less crowded Los Angeles Convention Center.

The 2022 Grammy Awards which has now been moved by the Recording Academy was supposed to hold on the 31st of this month. Sharing the news via their Instagram page, they wrote;
After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, we have postponed the 64th #GRAMMYs.
We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon. 🎶✨
