Global music streaming platform Spotify has removed the buzzing ‘Ameno Amapiano Remix” from its platform over the possibility of licensing issues.
The song owned by Nigerian hypeman Goya Menor and Ghanaian record producer nektunez sampled ‘Ameno’ by French new-age musical project Era. As it is known that to sample any form intellectual property, it is expected that the party that owns such property is contacted and the said sample is “cleared”.
The Amapiano remix which has the gregorain chant from the priginal song has become a global tune, with TikTok playing a major rule in the spread.
In an updated turn of events, the song has been taken down by spotify with over a igh possiblity of copyright/licensing issue.
